About Two Fish

About Two fish yogaTwo fishes are commonly used for symbolic reasons throughout different cultures and religions. Some examples include the two golden fishes in Buddhism which symbolises the auspiciousness of all living beings in a state of fearlessness, without danger of drowning in the ocean of sufferings, and migrating from place to place freely and spontaneously, just as fish swim freely without fear through water. The pair of fishes is also one of the eight Tibetan symbols of auspiciousness signifying the solar and lunar channels of the body, or prana. The fish has plenty of other theological overtones as well, for in the Christian bible Jesus fed 5,000 people with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread as a symbol of abundance and faith.

When searching for your life partner, many people use the phrase “there are plenty of fish in the sea.” Well, if we are all fish in the sea, than Jason and Heidi are grateful everyday that their two fish were able to find each other and explore life together.

story of two fish leaders

heidi and jason two fish retreats

Heidi and Jason met in 2008 when she was finishing up her degree in Landscape Architecture at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Upon graduation, Heidi decided she wanted to follow her passion for yoga and enroll in a 200 hour yoga teacher training, and they decided Bali would be the perfect place to go. They spent three months living in Bali during the training and absolutely fell in love with the island, its culture and its amazing people. Not only that, but Heidi fell in love with teaching yoga. Within the next few years she would complete and assist on multiple other trainings and become a full time yoga instructor in San Diego, California.

In 2013 they followed their love of Bali, travel and yoga and built their first website, Yoga Retreats-Bali, and hosted their first yoga retreat in Ubud. It was an amazing success and they enjoyed every minute of the retreat and the wonderful guests who joined them. Shortly thereafter, Jason decided to complete his 200 hour teacher training so he could further assist on retreats and deepen his own personal practice.

After hosting four successful yoga retreats in Ubud and Uluwatu, Bali, Heidi and Jason decided to expand their company and create Two Fish Yoga. With Two Fish they created an over-branching brand that would encompass retreats not just in Bali but all over the world, and could also include trainings, workshops, and more events related to their yoga experience. They are now exploring retreat locations and options in California, Central America, and Asia. The goal for Two Fish yoga retreats is to bring people to beautiful locations and inspire their personal growth while getting to explore beauty and culture all around the world. Jason proposed in 2012 and they were married overlooking the ocean in 2014. They continue to work on expanding their own personal practices through trainings, experiences and classes.contact us to book two fish retreats instagram and Facebook page
